Absortech develops and manufactures products to protect goods from moisture damage during transport. The products absorb moisture in spaces to reduce humidity that can cause damage during transport in the form of mould, corrosion, damaged packaging etc. They supply their products and services to customers worldwide in a variety of sectors, most commonly automotive, electronics, food (such as cocoa, rice and nuts) and apparel/shoes.

Blowtech and Absortech have been working together for over 10 years. The part that Blowtech manufactures is a thin-walled hollow plastic body. In combination with high product volume, blow moulding becomes an excellent process solution. With the cooperation of Blowtech, the company switched to manufacturing the product in recycled plastic in early 2021.
“The switch to recycled plastics has been part of our development work to reduce the carbon footprint of our products with the aim of creating carbon-neutral products. We have certainly seen an increased interest in sustainable products in recent years and the transition has been very well received and has been a contributing factor to our increased sales,” says Joakim Carlsson, COO at Absortech.

When choosing a supplier, Absortech values expertise in its field and reliability in terms of product quality and delivery reliability. They also value pro-active development work in production and materials as well as suppliers meeting their sustainability requirements (environmental, social and economic sustainability). Sustainability work is also important for Blowtech. “Our goal is to help our customers reduce our collective environmental impact, and that also places high demands on us as manufacturers,” says Magnus Karlsson, CEO of Blowtech.

“We are very happy with the cooperation with Blowtech, they have been an important partner in the development of our products. Over the past year, Blowtech has demonstrated great reliability despite several problems in the market such as supply issues and increased raw material prices in 2021,” says Joakim.

Absortech has high ambitions for its sustainability work and the majority of the product range is now carbon neutral. They won the 2021 Sustainability Award in Falkenberg, and they have several ongoing development projects with a focus on sustainability. “For us it is important that our suppliers share our values and our goal to contribute to a sustainable future together with them,” concludes Joakim.
